The Bodam website has a shorter text than the box (bought at Norma), but also amusing. I think ‘waffles’ is going too far. I have bought them in Karlsbad too, but eaten them all before leaving. But perhaps the German was the original, not just a good translation. At all events, unverwechselbare Leichtigkeit has become an interchangeable lightness.

bq. The first written evidence of the existence of the spa waffles can be found in the “Karlovy Vary Guide” from 1788, in which you can read that: “some citizens bake waffles and they are selling it theirselves”.
