On Tuesday April 15th I went to Würzburg Cathedral, because I am translating a guide to it. I was lucky to meet someone who does tours of the cathedral.

On the pulpit there are the Seven Virtues. Higher than all the others, the figure of Justice has its arms oddly held out at the sides and stands between Faith and Hope – it was accidentally switched with Charity when the pulpit was put back together after 1945. The figure down on the banister surrounded by children should be Justice. Somewhere along the way, the scales were lost. I’m sorry I didn’t photograph it.
