Hope to God – good joke!
It’s a pity the webmaster in the ref. to the UK/ Vereinigtes Königreich didn’t connect the Church of England with the spawning of Scrivener Notaries taken under the wing of the Archbishop of Canterbury delegated power by the Pope to grant ‘notarial faculties’ under the Ecclesiastical Licenses Act 1533.
Nor is any connection made with the Barristers’ Inns of Court – the Middle and Inner Temples – that go right back to the Crusades and the Knights Templar culminating in the building of the Temple Church which features so prominently in the Da Vinci Code (Book plus film recently shot on site amongst great curiosity).
