I didn’t realize Herman Ze German didn’t make their own sausages.
It seems they get them from The Sausage Man, who produce
Wholesale Bratwurst, Frankfurters, Hot Dogs in bulk, Bockwurst, Bratwurst, Weisswurst, Krakauer, Venison Salami, Foot Long Sausages, Beef Sausage, Chilli Dogs, Paprika Sausage, Chicken Sausage, Vegan Hot Dog Sausages, Beef Hot Dogs, Pepper Bite, Chipolata Sausages, Pepper Bite & Other German Related Products
If they don’t send you a complimentary sample box you will have wasted the last ten years of blogging.
I hope Sausage Man is Nigerian, to compensate for the dreadful Sugar Man.
Come back Austrian Arnie’s favo(u)rite ‘kos(c)her’ Käsekrainer, all is forgiven: post-disappearance of the German Food Centre in Knightsbridge – a regular sender of one-page telex (!) translations up to 30 years ago.
You can definitely get Käsekrainer at the German Deli, for example by Borough Market and also Stratford, I think. Apparently Kipferl does them, but that’s a restaurant. There also seems to be mail order from the Tirolerstuberl in Derby, who get them delivered fresh from Vienna. http://www.tirolerstuberl.co.uk/shop1.html

Thank you, Margaret, for a superlative piece or UK slice of sausage-related research. Now to wash down a packet of Weißwurst (Weisswurst) with a bottle of Weißbier (Weissbier) or Weizenbier.
