Tidying up German law / Rechtsbereinigung

Rechtsbereinigung is the process of repealing statutes and provisions no longer used. A Rechtsbereinigungsgesetz (Repeal Act?) was passed in mid-October, repealing 200 statutes and statutory orders. Under the heading Eingeführt von den Nazis: Anwaltsmonopol, Kindergeld und olympischer Fackellauf, RP online mentions the legislation (not all repealed) introduced in the Third Reich.

Blawgle – custom legal search

Nick Holmes, of Binary Law, has a search engine called blawgle. It is built on Google and searches UK law blogs. Until I get round to putting my own concordance together, this might be useful for finding legal language. On the other hand, since the sources are blogs, it may not be.

I looked up flying carpet and got five hits, as expected, for Mr. Justice Singer being removed from a divorce case involving a sheikh in which he made Moslem jokes, and two, unexpected, for ‘Flying carpet theorist refused a patent’.
